First Nations Digital Careers Program Traineeships

What is the role?

Goanna, the Queensland Government, and Microsoft are pleased to announce that applications for the 2023 intake of the First Nations Digital Careers Program are now open. The program is aimed at First Nations people of all age groups with varying levels of digital skills and experience who are interested in kickstarting or transitioning to a digital career. As part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to study a range of courses and to be placed into paid traineeships either within the Queensland Government, Microsoft, or one of their partner employers. We currently have over 40 paid traineeships opportunities available across both Queensland Government, Microsoft and digital industry partner organisations: 20 positions are available with a ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology 20 positions are available with a ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology Successful applicants will receive: A paid job in the digital field with flexible work and leave arrangements Salaries that are above award wages A 12-week training bootcamp to learn the skills needed to move into the workplace An opportunity to work with leading employers both within Government and the private sector An ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology or ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology upon completion of their studies On-the-job training, experience and learning Mentoring, assistance and pastoral care Continued job opportunities at the end of their traineeship. Cultural safety is at the core of the program, with trainees placed into jobs with employers who demonstrate culturally safe practices.
